Account and Data

QELM lets you delete your own account when you no longer need it. This guide covers how to request deletion, what happens right away, the grace period before anything is permanent, and which records QELM keeps and why.

You can request account deletion yourself: you do not need to email support or wait on an admin. When you confirm the request, QELM records it and starts the clock described below.

The moment you request deletion, your account is deactivated: you are signed out and can no longer use it. The account is frozen, not yet erased, so there is a window to change your mind.

QELM holds your account in this deactivated state for 30 days before anything is permanently erased. That grace period exists so an accidental or regretted deletion can be undone. After 30 days pass, the permanent erasure runs: your personal record is deleted, your push notifications and uploaded files are cleared, and you are unlinked from the workspace.

Your personal account is erased, but the business records of the workspace are kept. Invoices, payments, jobs, and the rest of your company’s books have to survive: they are the company’s financial history, and deleting them would tear a hole in records the business is required to keep.

So instead of deleting those records, QELM anonymizes them. Wherever a record was linked to you (an invoice you created, a payment you recorded), your name is removed and the record stays. The money is still accounted for, but the personal link to you is gone. This is the standard way to honor a deletion request without destroying records that belong to the business rather than to you.

Account deletion only ever affects your own account. It does not delete the workspace, and it does not remove anyone else. If you are the only person on a workspace and you need the whole thing removed, contact support rather than deleting your account, so nothing is left stranded. For everyday account settings, see the Settings guide.
